Welcome to the WATER EXEMPTION NEW LAWN SINGLE FAMILY HOME application process.
The Township of Langley Drinking Water Conservation Bylaw and Metro Vancouver water restrictions only apply to properties that are connected to the municipal water supply. Properties that receive water from a well only do not require a Water Exemption Permit for a new lawn.
This application is for new lawns for single family properties only. Please only apply for this water exemption permit for newly seeded lawns or sod application.Permits are not valid for the purpose of overseeding.
Once the application is complete, acknowledgement of permit issuance will be emailed to the applicant's email address, provided during the application process. The permit will also be available to view with all folders held by the account holder in their MyTownship profile.
Please note the following application conditions:
- This Application is only for new lawns (seed or turf) for residential single family properties.
- Permits are not valid for the purpose of overseeding.
- The non-refundable water exemption permit fee is $50 and is payable at time of application.
- Issued permits will only be valid for 21 days. If you require a water exemption permit for a specific date period please apply on the first date the exemption is required.
- Once issued, the permit will only allow watering of the new lawn area being established outside of restricted days between the hours of 5:00am and 9:00am for 21 days. The permit does not permit lawn watering outside of restricted days and times for areas of the property that do not have a new lawn.
- Extensions are only available for one additional period consecutive with the original permit as long as Stage 1 water restrictions are in place. Extensions are not permitted in Stage 2, Stage 3, or Stage 4.
- All permits are null and void if Stage 3 restrictions are declared.
- Permits may be cancelled and fees forfeited if permit conditions are not followed..
- Users can apply using a MyTownship profile.
- All *mandatory fields must be completed.
